At MiraMar Adventures, we believe in combining the beauty of the natural world and a deep respect for nature and the ocean with a hands-on educational experience to take your sailing skills to the next level.  We are committed to providing an enjoyable and rewarding experience aboard Mira Mar, and our focus on your learning style will ensure you have a thoroughly satisfying adventure.

Of course, it's not all work... and if your intent is to simply enjoy floating aboard  and enjoying the sites and sounds of life on the water, then we are all for it... Snorkeling, fishing, and paddle sports add to the sailing lifestyle too!

Our Story

Captain Jeff Riecks and his business partner, Dennis McMasters, met in college at West Virginia University while playing heavy metal music.  No, really.  After graduating and going their separate ways for a while, they ended up living near each other in southern California 10 years later.  By this point Dennis had been living aboard his Islander 37 monohull, Synapse, for about eight years.   Jeff took to sailing aboard Synapse, well, like a fish to water.  Shortly after this he changed his life direction to involve all things sailing and has been doing so for over 20 years.  We started MiraMar Adventures to share our love of sailing and the water with others.
